With gratitude, we remember…
First we start with remembering and honoring all the brave souls who fought in the service of our country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from battle. We are truly grateful.
Now we get to celebrate and enjoy the very freedom so many have fought so hard for.
Anchor yourself right here this weekend!
Of course with the official start to the boating season we have some news to share, the Marina Store/Office will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8am to 6pm. Followed May 27th, when our weekday hours will be 9am to 6pm. The pool opens this weekend from 10am to 5:45pm, the pool will be weekends only until June 8th.
Putter Port will have a delayed opening due to some supply chain issues. As soon as we get the course together we will get it open for your enjoyment.
From the Ding and Dent department:
Also, please note for your safety:
The water is approximately 15 inches lower along the lakeshore then last year at this time. So please head north a bit into deeper water when leaving the harbor and traveling along the lake shore. We have had a couple of captains already run into trouble.
Enjoy your weekend we hope to see you dockside!
We believe “Cone”-gratulations are in order…
An annual Vermilion tradition returns signaling the official start to our “Sweet Season” here at your home-port as last Thursday Dairy Dock opened (April 22nd) at 11:00am.
Because Sprinkles are for winners!
It won’t matter if your a chocolate or vanilla kind of person, we hope you are just ready for some well deserved treats after a long winter break.
You don’t have to be a reporter to get this scoop!
So hang in there because soon you can hang out with us, at the dock.
Open 11:am to 9pm Daily!
Have a Delicious Day!
Shiver Me Timbers
We know it’s orange cone season out on the highways, but here at your homeport we are under construction in a different way. We are building toward a better summer…
A boat load of fun…
With summer and Ice Cream right around the corner with Dairy Dock opening day slated for April 22nd. We thought it a good idea to preview our coming attraction. While it is only partially finished we think you can see that the pirates have done Arrrrrrr right.
Next up – Putter Port
You will also see vehicles showing up and working at Putter Port, while it may cause folks some stress to see things removed, rest assured a newer Putter Port is going back in. We look forward to previewing that in the weeks to come.
We hope to see you dockside at your family fun marina.
Need to see a dock? No appointment needed…
The boating season is just around the corner here at our Lake Erie marina, in fact you should be getting your launch orders any day now. Plus, the docks are in, Gas Docks soon to follow as we get excited to put the marina back toward “Summer Mode”.
Live, Love, Launch…
Next up will be launch orders arriving in your mailbox. Please take the time to carefully review the items you may need us to perform, then just return them and we will get you on the schedule. If you need assistance filling them out, we are NOW OPEN 10am to 3pm, SATURDAYs. Feel free to stop in for a visit, we are happy help.
Where would your boat like to spend the summer?
If your looking for a place to take the whole crew for the summer, at the moment we are sold out of docks. We are taking names for a waiting list on a first come, first serve basis, in case some folks may have to leave us and docks become available as the season approaches. To get on the list, just give us a call or email us.
We hope to see you dockside!
Are you Febru-weary? Maybe time to see a dock!
It’s kinda difficult to imagine it, yet the days are getting longer and better times are just around the corner here at your favorite Lake Erie Marina. We can’t wait to go from the blahs of Winter to the sunny goodness of Launch Season.
If your in the market for a dock, you may want to give us a call. We are getting close to selling out so don’t get left at the shore this summer. Launch is getting closer by the day.
Now Open Saturday’s…It’s not an oar-deal.
Moreover, now is the time to start to “Think Spring” and get your plans ready. To help you find where your boat would like to spend the summer, we are now Open Saturdays from 10am – 3pm.
Plus, now that February has officially drawn to a close we are hoping you have a chance get out of the house and stop by and see what we have to offer. We would like to show you around and talk boating to see where your Crew wants to drop anchor. Launch is drawing closer by the day. Plus the coffee is on us!
We hope to see you dockside! (coming soon to a marina near you)
Walking in a winter punderland…
So the thick of Winter is upon us, what with the cold, snow and ice, but so what. There is no need to get discouraged, as we are one month closer to the good stuff. Like sitting dockside enjoying a refreshing cold one with your friends.
It deep-ends on your point of view..
Sure the Sun rarely makes an appearance this time of year, yet under that blanket of grey you can rest easy knowing a splashdown and sunshine is getting closer with the passing of each day.
We lake you a lot!
So just imagine if you will, what a view like the one below would cost? When your out on a boat, you get million dollar vistas that land owners fight over.
So we hope this cheered you up as much as it has us. When we look back, we can’t help but think forward. Hang in there the boating season is getting closer every day!
Our vision for a great boating season is 2021…
Well it was a very mild Christmas to New Year’s break, and we hope everyone enjoyed their time with family where possible. We certainly had fun with ours in a limited capacity as well, and thank all who sent well wishes and season greetings our way.
Of course we are back in the garages getting the boats and docks ready for another splashdown. If you need assistance or want to secure a dock for 2021 and can’t make the hours shown below, just call we can meet you at most anytime convenient for you.
Store Hours – 10am to 3pm Mon-Tues-Thurs-Fri
Service Hours – 8am to 5pm Weekdays
Even on break, we are still boaters…
Some folks have asked us what we do for fun? Well, it is easy to guess. Though some of us did go south for a bit, we still make time to social distance on a boat no matter the body of water.
What they call a lake, we call a pond…
In comparison and at the end of the day, it still is not boating on Lake Erie. Between the record Walleye catch and the vastness of boating destinations, a day on the lake beats most on vacation elsewhere. After all, our captains get a whole summer of sunsets.
Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you dockside!
Turkey Day arrives just in time.
We want to take a minute to thank all of our Captains and Crew for a great boating season. With Thanksgiving week arriving, we hope you get a chance to enjoy your time with family and friends, even if done via internet screen. We also hope that any travels you may have are safe and not too much of a hassle.
Below is the first Romp’s Thanksgiving (imagined)
We think those may be Cleveland Indians…but we kid of course, but one of things we do need to share with you is the Marina’s hours will be a little different this week.
Romp’s will be closed Weds through Sunday to celebrate Thanksgiving.
However, if an urgent situation arises and you need assistance just call us and leave a message or email us and we will get back to you. We are in and out of the marina several times a day even when on break.
We will be back at it on Monday.
This is a season of thanks, and we here at your homeport are very grateful, we hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!
That’s a wrap, Gas Docks now closed for the season.
For everything there is a season, and as we enter November with the boats on shore at your home-port it officially closes the book on the boating calendar for 2020. We will be pulling some docks next as we have to finish in the coming weeks, but wanted you to know “R” hours are changing with the seasons.
So, with the sun shining, and the boats prepped on land for their long winter naps, we have some changes to update you on dockside.
With the Gas Docks now closed we would like to thank everyone who supported us this year and can’t wait to get right back on the water in 2021, your business is very much appreciated.
“R’ hours and yours
Next up, our Store/Office hours will revert back to the winter schedule which is:
Monday – Tuesday -Thursday – Friday 10am to 3pm.
The Service Dept is open weekdays from 8 am to 5pm. If you need assitance or would like to pay a bill just give us a call, we can take credit cards right over the phone.
In the meantime…Stay Safe…Stay Happy!
Happy Halloween!..and thank you all for a great boating season.
While you may be visited by all kinds of Ghosts or Goblins today or tonight, don’t forget that this is the very last week of Pull-Out starting Nov 2nd.
We will be changing to Winter Hours starting Monday, hours will be 10am to 3pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We will be close Wednesday and Weekends. We are in the Service Department from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday if you need us, and check our email multiple times a day as well.
Dockside water will be turned off and winterized this coming week, so please take note if you need any last minute cleanup on the boat please plan accordingly.
After the last of the boats are out, the docks will soon follow so please empty your dock boxes as soon as possible so we can take them to storage to make room for the docks on land. Also note that you should remove your dock lines and fenders so they do not get worn or weathered. We wish you all a safe and happy off season and look forward to doing this all again next year at Romps Lake Erie Marina!
