All we need is some favorable lake conditions. On another quick note, Vermilion Road has re-opened for travel to and from your family fun marina, and just in time for the busy holiday.

First we start with remembering and honoring all the brave souls who died in the service of our country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from battle. We are truly grateful.

A flurry of activity at your home-port..
We had quite a week to work through but that hasn’t dampened our spirits. In fact, just the opposite, as we are back to launching boats. There was even a chance to uncover the pool and get it up and running (though not heated yet).
As you can see below, Wednesday we had snow,… But snow what…
Today the Sun has finally arrived!
And if your day starts like this (pic below taken 7:40am this morning) it usually is very good sign.
Launch the boats, Launch the Boats, Launch the boats….
The above is our work schedule for today. If your out and about this weekend and looking for dock space for your crew, please stop by and let us show you what we have to offer. With each passing day the forecast looks like Spring may finally get going, and we hope your thinking warm thoughts as more and more boats head to water.
We are open both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm and hope to see you dockside!
How to make a splash this Spring…
Well, despite the weather, we have the first boat in the water! The upside is that it this is just the start and a good sign of things to come for the beginning of Launch Season.
Launch Season is here, and it’s a Shore thing…
With launch, we have started to get the marina ready for the upcoming season. Dock Boxes are headed out, and tables will soon follow. As soon as the temps get consistently above freezing we will get the dockside water turned on as well. The current forecast has temps warming by mid-week so there is a good chance that we can turn the water on this coming week.
Here’s where you come in…
It’s still early yet, but you can do several things to make sure your launch goes smoothly. First check your Ohio registration stickers, those expired March 1st. It is much easier to put them on before your boat goes in. Next is go through your launch order and make sure you have checked services needed, added a launch date, and if you have any questions or need help just Contact Us. We are here to help.
Finally, we are now open both Saturday and Sundays from 10am to 3pm if you need assitance or are looking for a place for your boat to spend the summer! We hope to see you dockside at Romp’s Lake Erie Marina.
And a hoppin’ good Spring!
Here’s wishing all of our Captain’s and Crew a very Egg-citing easter weekend. We hope you enjoy your time with family and friends. Our office/store will be open for every bunny looking to find a dock for the summer, so we hope you Hop on in!
Put a little Spring in your step!
Of course launch orders have been sent out and we hope you have received yours. Please take time to review your service needs and let us know if we can help you fill out the order or answer any questions you may have.
Docks are in so those coming by water can arrive anytime. Please note for current dock holders: Romp’s does not provide steps or corner platforms, if your dock has items left on the dock from previous owners, or you feel items may be an obstacle and need removed, just let us know. For those folks attaching items, please contact us for guidelines so you do not damage your dock (drilling/fastening into the steel is prohibited).
We are always happy to help out.
Hop on over to Double D..
For Dairy Dock fans the beginning April means it’s that time of year. We have tentatively slated April 12th for Opening Day. Now this could change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, so check back here for updates.
Have an Egg-ceptional Easter Weekend from your friends at Romp’s Lake Erie Marina!
Docks start their natural migration back to water…
The sun is out, albeit it is a bit cool, yet we have had a great week here at your home-port putting the docks in as we take another step closer to Launch Season.
We’re making a splash…
With every passing day the marina starts to look like the boating season is just around the corner. Note that even though it may take awhile before we can turn dockside water on due to freezing temps, dockside electric is on.
Dock boxes will start to be delivered in the next week. Boaters should also start to receive their launch orders as they go out today.
The gas docks are in, but the gas pumps have not been hooked up yet, so stay tuned for updates as we work toward getting things back in order.
From the “You can never be too prepared” Dept….
Ohio State Watercraft will be offering a FREE one-day Ohio Boating Education Course this Saturday, March 24, from 9am to 5pm. There are multiple courses all over the state. Preregistration is required visit http://bit.ly/2FeiFBD for details.
Don’t worry about the light coating of white stuff on the lawn, we are in the home stretch as far as Winter is concerned with the official start to Spring slated for 20 March 2018. You know what that means; very soon docks will start to make a splash at your home-port. (last year in March pictured below)
Live, Love, Launch..
Once the docks go in, the Launch Orders will start arriving at a mailbox near you. As the official start to the Launch season is April 1st (weather permitting), though we always recommend you hold off till the later part of April or into May as Mother Nature can still throw us some curve-balls temperature wise.
What can you do in the meantime?
Think warm thoughts!.. That and make sure you have a dock secured for your boat if you haven’t already. We are now Open Saturdays from 10am to 3pm and have a good selection to choose from. Also, now would be a good time to check on things like your boat registration as those expire on March 1st, best to get your paperwork done now so your boat is ready for the open seas. Contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.
The Sun will soon rise on a new boating season…
And we can’t wait, hope to see you dockside at Romp’s Lake Erie Marina!
