For everything there is a season, and as we enter November with all the boats on shore at your homeport it closes the book officially on the boating calendar for 2018.

So, with the winds howling, and the boats all prepped on land for their long winter naps, we have some changes to update you on dockside.

First and foremost is that the Gas Docks are now closed for the year. We thank everyone who supported us this year and can’t wait to get right back on the water in 2019, your business is very much appreciated.

No tricks, all treat at your homeport…

We are open both Saturday and Sunday for those Captains who need to stop by and get their Winter Storage plans in ship shape, as always we are happy to assist you. One important note to share, our dockside water will be turned off and winterized today as cold evening temps have brought the threat of freezing temps in the coming days ahead.

Of Ghosts and Goblins…

This weekend also marks the start to the Halloween season in Vermilion as various non-profit groups and businesses host Halloween related events. Even though the official Trick or Treat is not until the 31st, we wanted to get an early start on asking everyone to keep an eye out for costumed kidos as events are planned in town from the 19th (Family YMCA Halloween) 28th from  (Quaker Steak) through the 31st ( full City), various links here and more here.

A Fall to Leaf You Happy!….

A season of Pumpkins and Spice, plus Perch on ice

The first full week of Pull-Out season has come and gone yet we are just getting started in the Boats to Land dept. This week saw some unseasonably and very warm temps, then a cool down by weeks end. It is the time of year where the weather can be unpredictable as it transitions from one season to another.   Yet, we always look forward to the colors.

Leaf here feeling happy…

With the lake temps still in the high 60’s it has been a challenge to find our Perch friends and invite them to dinner. If the coming weeks could bring some cooler weather it would help in the hook-line-and-sinker dept. Of course while we wait on the next big catch, there is no better time then now to start planning your fall pull-out needs.

Temps will eventually fall with the leaves..

The one thing we can all count on, is in the near future the temps will fall; the question is will you be ready when that day comes? Just stop by and let us help you get in ship shape before the “end of October” rush. We are open both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm and Weekdays from 9am to 5pm as well.

We can walk you the various options of Pull-out so you can rest easy knowing that your boat is all ready for its Winter slumber.

Because in Ohio, there’s always another season around the corner….
