Romps Lake Erie Marina

Lake Erie's Family Fun Marina Since 1957

It’s Autumn-matic at your Homeport….

We “fall” for it every time (of year).

The leaves will soon start to change color as the official start to fall arrives at your homeport Saturday. Of course the forecast for the weekend is Autumn like with temps in the high 60’s and some showers mixed in; so there’s what we like to call a preview of coming attractions.

Oil we want to do, is help you….

When prepping for the fall to come, the very first place to start would be making sure to put your boat to bed with clean oil. We are changing oil all this week and most of next, so if you haven’t turned in your Oil Change Order, please do so now that we can get you on the schedule prior to Pull-Out beginning. Your boat’s engine will thank you.

Ready, Set, PULL!

Now is also a great time to plan your boat’s winter storage needs and we are here to help. You can stop in and let us help make your pull-out hassle free and orderly by answering any questions or concerns you may have. We are open both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.

This weekend could be a “Bear”, and that’s a good thing.

Then, it’s that time of year again. The Woolybear Festival arrives in Vermilion Sunday and with it some cooler temps for the festivities.

This all takes place Sunday the 23rd.

What this means for Romp’s Dockers

Not much will change here at Romp’s. You still will be able to access the marina like usual, and your dockside parking will not be affected. There will be kids out front of the marina parking cars for Vermilion Soccer club. They will let any marina dockers pass without issue.

The only thing you need concern yourselves with will be traffic. There will be a lot of folks coming into town, and a parade at mid-day closing downtown. So if your coming out to the boat, our suggestion is come early and avoid the rush. More on Woolybear activities here…@ http://vermilionchamber.net/

Stop Wishing, Start Fishing….

Hook, Line, and Thinker…

So the kids are back in school, and maybe all the after school activities have you running around the county. Well, we have just the thing you need to slow down and relax. How about a day on the lake with just a hook in the water?

Something’s fishy in Vermilion…

As anglers have stopped to get fuel at Romp’s Gas Docks, we are starting to see more and more perch in their coolers. That is a good sign for both the folks who love to eat perch and tarter sauce sales. Now may be the time to get the rod and reel out and fill some coolers of your own.

By the way what did one fish say to the other?
Keep your mouth shut and you’ll never get caught.

Free Sunsets…Just add water.

Or maybe fishing isn’t your angle, there are plenty of free sunsets left to enjoy, as well as a Lake that is still near 70 degrees. Put that together with a forecast in the mid 80’s and we have another great weekend on tap at your Family Fun Marina.

“R” Hours and Yours… The Fall Schedule.

The times are a changing…

Well it was a pretty good run, but with the passing of a great Labor Day Weekend we also mush pass along information about “R” fall schedule.

First, with the passing of Labor Day both the Pool and Putter Port are now closed for the season. We thank all those who stopped by and enjoyed their time with us. We really appreciate the support!

Next up, our store/gas dock hours will revert to the fall schedule as well: Store/Office/Gas Dock open 9-5 daily.

Dairy Dock Closes soon…

Also, the Dairy Dock will be wrapping up operations as September 9th will be the last day of the season for the stand. We really thank everyone who visited the dock this year, we are very grateful for your business.

Hooked on perch….

Soon you will be headed into hook-line-and-sinker territory as Perch Season is next on deck. Over Labor Day weekend the beginnings of Perch started to make appearances in some coolers very near you.

So we hope to see you dockside!

Celebrate Labor Day by not working!

Close down, Log Out, Switch off, Relax and Boat….

President Abraham Lincoln once said that “Labor is the superior of capitol” and boy did he get that right. As all the hardworking folks who dock at Romp’s can attest, this weekend is well deserved time off from the daily grind and, more importantly, time to relax and have some fun.

Labor Day also brings with it a change in seasons at our home-port. This will be the last weekend of the season for the pool as it closes for the year on Tuesday Sept 4th. So we hope you get out and make a splash!

Finally, we also have to add that Putter-Port will be open from 1pm to 10pm Sat-Sun-Mon this weekend, then will close for the season as well. So now is the time to get the crew onto the back 9.

Whether your just chill’n or grill’n…

We hope you enjoy your weekend at your Family Fun Marina.  We hope to see you dockside!
