Officially summer has begun! We did have a good start to this week despite a forecast for the weekend that we may have to keep an eye on. Of course we will still get the marina ready for your family fun no matter the circumstances because the pool is a balmy 83 degrees and the drinks are served cold, that forecast you can count on!
Here’s what the early part of the week looked like here at your home-port:
So here’s hoping that you have a chance to get some Lake Life in and just get away from the stresses of an everyday routine, no matter the weather.
After all, it’s never too late to get some greenery, in your scenery…We hope to see you dockside at Romp’s Lake Erie Marina!

With Memorial Weekend soon approaching we are still in full launch mode here at the marina as we get boats in the water. One of the things you notice when you launch 250 or so boats is that many captains need to review their gear and most importantly their safety equipment.
With that in mind we have asked State Watercraft Officers to lend a hand Sunday June 25th 10am-2pm. The officers are going to provide free safety inspections to make sure you and your crew start the season out in the best way possible. So mark your calendars now, then check in Saturday June 25th and get your vessel all checked out.
If you can’t make that safety inspection and to help you start your season off right, the Vermilion Marine Patrol has given us a blank inspection sheet for you to use in preparing your safety gear for the upcoming season. Just click on the image below to enlarge it and print it.
After all the best captains are the ones who don’t rely on luck! See you dockside!
Sounds catchy doesn’t it? When the Sun does eventually shine, temps roll up in the 70’s every day and the boats will start to make quite a splash around here. As you can see in the image below if you start with a good morning, it all flows smoothly from there.
So our job is to get going and get the boats in the water so our captains and crews can start enjoying the many days of boating ahead.
For those looking for a place to drop anchor, we have a good selection of docks available, but some of those are going fast so make sure you stop by and get yours now.
Remember Memorial Day weekend is getting closer as every day we tick off the calendar in May is a day closer to kickoff. So make sure you have your ship in shape and get those launch orders filled out and turned in soon. You don’t want to miss the boat!
Also, for best results…just add water!.. We know it’s kinda campy, but we are pleased that despite a week of up and down weather we were able to make quite a splash at your home-port with boat after boat headed toward the docks.
With every boat we launch the marina starts to look a little more like summer. In fact we’ve even taken a spin out on the Lake today and though it looks like occasional rain, it was nice to get that “Erie” feeling being back on the water again.
So if your still debating what needs done to get your boat ready, stop by and let us help you get your launch order filled out so you can be the next vessel sitting at the dock in ship-shape, ready to go.
We will be open 9-5 both Saturday and Sunday and hope to see you dockside.
There’s a chance of Oreo Flurrys in the forecast for today! Dairy Dock returns as Vermilion’s official kick off to spring opens today at 11:30am. Ice Cream aficionados can finally get out and about today for their favorite Cones, Shakes and Flurrys as we look forward to the Summer Season ahead.
Despite the overcast skies, it is still a sure sign of sunny days ahead!
We hope to see you at the Double D!..
We have been emailed and called several times about the opening date for Dairy Dock and we want our fans to know that we will be ready to go with your favorite treats on April 13th (11:30am).
So get ready to get that sweet tooth satisfied and we thank you for the support!
What if we told you, you could work and play in the same exact location? In fact why spend all your time in a car driving from one location then to the other? Now you can do both because Romp’s now has office space available right on the river front.
Above is the view from the office entrance.
The inside of the office has just been reconditioned with new carpet and paint. Office size is 600 sg. ft. and includes a bathroom , water, electric, A/C, and gas. Private parking for one car provided with additional public spots as well.
The office comes with two closets with lots of open space and lighting. Within walking distance to downtown Vermilion, including many fine restaurants and shops.
So don’t miss out this opportunity get in on the only spot in town where you can work, then walk outside right onto where play begins. Call us for pricing and other terms and conditions.
Also for those interested in information on docking this summer, we are now open Saturday AND Sunday 10-3 at your Family Fun Marina….We hope to see you dockside!
What nice weather we have had this week. Taking advantage of a little sunshine and some mild temps we were able to get started putting the docks in, as we inch closer toward launch.
Of course this is just the very beginning, but compared to last year where we were waiting for ice to melt, we are feeling good about getting an early start to spring.
Another sign of spring arrives very soon for Romp’s Captain’s and their crews as Launch Orders are coming soon to a mailbox near you. So you will have plenty of time to think over your game plan for splashdown.
Finally, for those of you looking for a place for your boat to call home. We are now Open Saturdays from 10-3 stop by and let us show you what we have to offer!
Hope to see you dockside!
We want to wish all of our captains and crews a very Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s hoping the road does indeed rise up to meet you, yet the lake lays down before you. Here at your home-port we are getting more and more excited to start the boating season. So chase your rainbows, and soon you can chase the Sun.
Despite cool temps and gray weather folks will be out in big numbers, so be please be careful when you celebrate. And for those who are looking for a place to drop anchor, we are open Saturday from 10-3 and we will have coffee ready for the day after. See you dockside!
Sure that may sound silly, but we get pretty excited here at your home-port when we hear that splashing sound of docks going back in the water.
And while the photo above will not win any awards for color or photography in general, it sure looks great to us because it signifies the beginning to what we look forward to the most…. The boating season.
Of course we hope you are now making plans to do some splashing of your own this coming summer, and we have just place for you anchor those family plans.
So stop by and see all that we have to offer your crew this boating season.
We are now Open Saturday’s from 10-3 to serve you better….We hope to see you dockside here at Romp’s Lake Erie Marina.
