We know that this time of year can be a long stretch of days while you anxiously wait for the warmth of spring to arrive. So why not start planning your summer fun now?
You can always start by going over your checklist of things you will need long before Summer arrives.
First and foremost, of course, is “Where would my boat like to spend the summer?” If you haven’t picked a home-port yet, make sure to give us a call. We would love to show you what we have to offer your family and friends.
Then you may want to ask yourself questions about the basics like “Are my flares up to date?”, “Will I need my boat bottom painted or touched up?”, “Do I need a new lifejacket or two?”. It’s the captain who starts to think spring and make a list that has a leg up when the warm weather does arrive.
So as the long days of February melt away into March and then April know that we are already thinking warm thoughts as we prep for a great boating season and hope that you are too. We hope to see you dockside!
We would like to wish everyone a very happy St. Valentine’s Day this coming Tuesday. As everyone knows that there is nothing more romantic then long sunset cruises on Lake Erie during those great summer evenings, though you will have to remind your significant other that the boating season is not that far off.
In a couple more weeks, there will be plenty of time to start planning those great times together outdoors with loved ones. Maybe you can get them some flowers or candy as a reminder such as these.
Either way, we know that it’s a good time for couples to show their appreciation for each other and wish everyone a great day. After all it was the Beatles that said, “Love is all you need”, and who are we to disagree with that, Enjoy!
So the groundhog came out and saw his shadow. Sure it can be tough to hear that we have 6 more weeks of winter, but we all know that just beyond that forecast lie some better days ahead. After all it’s weather like this that will make us appreciate the warm days of summer even more.
So why we endure the next couple of weeks of February, get your mindset pointed toward spring and start thinking of all the things you’ll need to get done to get on the water. The time to launch will be here before you know it.
Even though we are not yet open on weekends, we welcome you to email us and we can set up a visit that meets your schedule. We would be happy to show you what we have to offer during hours or after hours.
So hang in there boaters…….It won’t be long and we will be able to leave winter in our wake!
We are happy to announce that Romp’s Family Fun Marina turns a whopping 60 years old this year. That is a full six decades and three generations of Romp’s family, plus all of our great employees, and thousands of boaters who have spent their family time here at your home port. (our founders Rob and Peeps Romp on the left, Bill and Molly Romp on the right)
And we’ll share the secret to our success with you, it’s having the best customers in the world, as we well know a business is only as good as the customers it serves.
So we give thanks to all things, big and small, that made the last 60 years such a great time for our family and employees, and look forward to many, many more serving your family. After all, we’re not just a business, we’re boaters! We hope to see you dockside!.
Here’s hoping that the 2017 boating season is a great one. We are very blessed as a family to have the best Captain’s and Crews on Lake Erie, and we also hope that your New Year’s Resolution involves more fun in the sun with family and friends!
So here’s hoping that this year is every bit as good as the very best. Our family wishes all of our dockers a very safe and prosperous 2016 and can’t wait to get past these cold months and get the boating season underway!
Happy New Year from the whole crew at your favorite Lake Erie marina at Romp’s!
With the Christmas Holiday quickly approaching, those of us here at your home-port would like to announce we are taking a little break to be with family and friends during this great season of sharing.
We especially would like to wish all of our captains and crews a very merry and safe holiday season. We hope everyone is in great spirits this Christmas and wish you all the best in the New Year.
Starting tomorrow, we will be off on Christmas Break from Dec 16th to Jan 2nd. If you need assistance or dockage information please contact us as we will be in and out frequently and check our phone messages and email often during the break. In fact we celebrate Christmas right here at your family fun port!
Joy to the world!
We know what your thinking, the boats are out and cold weather is here to stay. To that we say there is no better time then to start planning next summer! What if you could give the someone you love the gift of the great outdoors, of family activity and an escape from the stresses of life.
You can! Instead of buying a gift that your captain or crew member will open and be done with, or worse yet have to return, get them a Romp’s Gift Card! It works similar to a pre-paid visa in that you get a credit card sized gift card that you can use for the following:
- * Dockage and Winter Storage
- * Gas and pump-out services
- * Beer, Pop, Ice, Snacks, and Romper Room Food!
- * Putter Port Passes (purchased through our store with no extra fees)
- * Dairy Dock Ice Cream Tokens (purchased through our store with no extra fees)
- * Service on your boat including launch, pull-out, tune-ups, oil changes, even electronics rigging.
- * Guest passes for the pool.
- * Safety Gear, flares, life jackets etc.
- * Boating cleaners and supplies.
- * Most anything we sell!*
With no extra fees! That’s right a $25 gift card costs $25, a $50 gift card $50, and so on. You name the amount, we load the card, add a boat and some water, mix in some warm weather and stir; wa-laa! Smiles ensue! The card holder can use all of the amount at once or a little at a time.
So this Christmas give the gift that will continue to put a smile on your captains face all year long. The gift of boating.
(*Some restrictions apply, all purchases have to be made at Romp’s marine store/office, please contact Romp’s for more details. Romp’s Gift Cards are good only at Romp’s Water Port, Inc.)
It’s that time of year when, soon, the smell of turkey and dressing will be in the air. Families will gather and enjoy their time together, and we are excited to do the same.
So…with that said, we are announcing our Turkey Hours for the coming week as we take a break like our forefathers did.
The Marine Store/Office will be closed from Friday, Nov 18 until Monday Nov 28, however if you need to pay a bill or would like dockage information we can still meet you by appointment. Just give us a call or email us.
The Service Dept will be open both Monday and Tuesday (Nov 21, 22) next week from 8-5 and can help you with paying a bill, scheduling service or dockage information if needed.
We certainly hope you enjoy time with your crew as much as we look forward to time with our family.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving from your family fun Marina.
Who would have thought that the weather would have held out with these very mild temps thus far this fall. In fact, we still have some occasional boat traffic on the river despite the onset of cooler temps forecast this weekend.
Yet, as you can see, the docks have made their way to shore and the marina is slowly being prepped for the cooler weather forecast just ahead of Turkey Day.
But in the meantime, we can always look back on the terrific 2016 season with some very fond memories of our time on the Lake. And our time with family in the great outdoors is something to give thanks for!…
As we go about slowly preparing the marina for the winter months ahead, we want to stop and take a minute to thank all of our Veterans out there. We are truly grateful for your service to our country.
We know a lot of our Captains and crew have served and show their pride in both attire they wear and with pride by the various service flags flown from their ships masts.
Our eternal thanks as we continue to enjoy the freedoms your service provides!
On a side note, we will be closed this weekend as we start our winter schedule. Our Winter Hours are listed here. If you would like information about a dock for the 2017 season just give us a call or email us, we can schedule an appointment to meet you most any time during, or even after hours if needed. Have a great weekend!
